Etching paste for glass 50ml
Etching paste for glass 50ml
Etching glass with Pentart Glass Etching Paste is easy. This is a creamy paste used for etching glass surfaces. The paste is very effective and strongly caustic. Thanks to the texture, it is easy to gain control over where to etch. You can even fill an empty bottle with a spout or similar to be able to write / draw with the paste. Another way if you don't want to use the paste freehand is to use stencils.
Etching is a chemical reaction that corrodes the glass. It cannot therefore be restored.
Do this.
Clean the glass surface carefully with water or even better Solvent, alcohol Based, which you will find below. Do not use cleaning spray, washer fluid or other cleaning agents. Put on the supplied gloves and stir the paste thoroughly
Apply the paste to the surface using a brush, foam brush, plastic painter's knife or similar tool. Apply freehand, using a stencil or fill the paste in a bottle with a spout and use it as an outliner.
Now leave the paste on the surface for at least 15 minutes to react. If you are using a stencil, do not remove it before rinsing off the paste. Immediately wash all tools that have been used.
Store at room temperature. At lower temperatures the paste will crystallize. If it does, reheat it in a container of hot water until the crystals melt. Then stir the pasta thoroughly.
If there is a need to neutralize the paste, this can be done with baking powder, sodium bicarbonate.
